Kathleen Whisman, MD is a California native who has proudly called Sonoma County home for more than 30 years.

Dr. Whisman earned her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine in 1992 and completed her residency at the Stanford Family Medicine Program at San Jose Medical Center in 1995. Following residency, she began practicing in West Sonoma County, where she has served the community ever since.

Throughout her career in private practice, Dr. Whisman has provided comprehensive family medicine, including obstetrics and women’s health. Over the past three decades, she has built lasting relationships with families across multiple generations, becoming a trusted physician for patients throughout West Sonoma County.

With deep roots in the community, Dr. Whisman is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, compassionate care for patients of all ages. She believes that strong physician–patient relationships are at the heart of excellent medicine and takes pride in spending meaningful time with her patients. This approach allows her to understand each individual more fully and provide care that reflects the whole person, not just their symptoms.

Dr. Whisman strives to create a practice where patients feel comfortable, supported, and heard—offering a true medical home grounded in trust, connection, and personalized care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Whisman enjoys spending time with her family and her three young adult children. She can often be found hiking along the coast with her dog, practicing yoga, or cooking for family and friends.
